1. Let The Dog Go Out

Let me tell you about my dog Sport
A regular dog, the usual sort
He likes to stay in the house to play
And when he does I just have to say. . .

Let the dog go out
He can come back later
Let the dog go out
He'll be back sooner or later
Let the dog go out
He can come back later
dog was made for lying in the shade

One time I took old Sport to the park
He stayed there from morning 'till dark
had so much fun, he stayed six days
and that is why I have to say. . .

Let the dog go out
He can come back later
Let the dog go out
He'll be back sooner or later
Let the dog go out
He can come back later
He'll be happy as a lark if you take him to the park

We were in the back yard when it started to rain
The wind was blowing like a hurricane
The lightning flashed and the thunder growled
Sport just wagged his happy tail and howled
He said, "OOOWWW!" and I said "Let the dog go out!"

Go Back to Great Big World . . .

4. Clap Your Hands
©2000 Joe McDermott/True Blue Music

Long before they invented instruments
People used to dance and sing
They mimicked the music of the earth
The frogs, the snakes, the bees
The waves and the wind through the trees

They beat on their chests like the bears in the forest
Whistled like the birds in the trees
Now you can clap your hands

The lightning cracks up in the sky
The wind blows through the tree
This is the music of the earth
Come on and sing with me

Beat on your chest like the bear in the forest
Whistle like the bird in the tree
Now you can. . .

CHORUS:
Clap your hands everybody
Let your body make music
Clap your hands everybody
Do a little dance and let your body make music

The monkeys howl up in the trees, the whales sing in the sea
All around the campfire light
my friends all sing with me, they all sing with me
It could be a sign of things to come
When all of earth's creatures can live as one

CHORUS

Go Back to Great Big World . . .

6. Way Out West

I'm gonna saddle up my horsie
Gonna ride away
Goin' south where the sun shines
Almost every day

Headin' way out west, where the skies are big and blue
I'm gonna ride ride ride
Just like the cowboys do (and the cowgirls too)

I'm gonna take my baths in an old cow tub
When I wash behind my ears I'll need a broom to scrub
And then I'll comb my hair with the toothpick that I chew
And let my fingernails get long
Just like the cowboys do (and the cowgirls too)

I'm gonna buckle up my buckles, gonna scruffle up my scruffles
Gonna punch those little doggies, and get blisters on my knuckles
Gonna thank my lucky stars when the day is through
That I live way out west
Just like the cowboys do (and the cowgirls too)

Go Back to Great Big World . . .

7. Everything Grows

CHORUS:
Everything grows from inside out
Finger and toe from the inside grow
From flowers to birds that fly about
Everything grows from inside out

A sparrow lays her egg in the nest
Nature knows how to do the rest
Inside the egg, the baby grows
When will it hatch? Only baby knows

CHORUS

Egg goes crack in the treetop high
Two little eyes peek out at the sky
Baby cheeps, and baby squirms
Here comes mamma with a big fat worm

Worm goes in, and baby grows
From inside out and mamma knows
That someday she'll fly when she's all grown
Someday she'll lay an egg of her own

CHORUS

Go Back to Great Big World . . .

10. Great Big World

You're just a baby now
Sleeping in your mama's arms
Someday you'll be walking
And talking and running
And wanting to know everything

I know it's going to happen to you
It happened to me

There are birds in the back yard
A crafty cat, and a friendly dog
So much to learn about
A big blue sky
A garden, trees to climb

So much to learn about
But you wont have to learn alone

CHORUS:
Some day I'm gonna hold your little hand
Walk around this great big world

BRIDGE
There are bugs that bite, flies that light
Moon at night it's a great big world
There are rainy days, sunny days,
Snow and wind and clouds in the sky

You're just a baby now
Swinging from your daddy's arm
Some day you'll wear real clothes
We'll play all day, we'll walk out our front door
Into the mysterious world
Where everything's new again

Go Back to Great Big World . . .
