FRED KOCH HONORED WITH KOHL EXEMPLARY TEACHING AWARD Lake Bluff, IL (March 20, 1988) Red Rover Records is pleased to announce that Fred Koch, composer and producer of the award-winning "This Lil' Cow" line of children's recordings, recently was selected a winner of the fourth annual KOHL INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR EXEMPLARY TEACHERS. The Kohl Awards are designed to focus international attention on education by recognizing outstanding teachers for their innovative teaching methods, commitment, sensitivity and courage. Sixteen winners were selected from hundreds of teachers around the world. These teachers also join the Kohl International Academy, which serves as an advisory body to other educators. A special Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Fred Rogers, writer, producer and host of "Mister Rogers Neighborhood." The Kohl Media Award will be presented to John merrow, education correspondent for "The MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour," and noted Soviet educator, Nadia Burova, is the recipient of the 1988 Kohl International Peace Prize. Edward James Olmos, star of the movie "Stand and Deliver" will give the keynote address. The ceremony to honor the recipients will take place Sunday, April 24, at the Hotel Nikko, Chicago, Illinois. The Kohl Teaching Awards are sponsored by the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation of Wilmette, Illinois. |
