Foreword: Thanks to all my friends who spontaneously lent their voices to this project and to the great musicians that Oliver recruited. Oliver . . . it's such a joy to work with you . . . and the big bag of tricks you bring to the party . . . fiddle, voice, guitar, feet, whistling, arranging, producing, engineering, cooking, reading to Patrick, the title, the cover idea, gossip from the mainland, travel tips . . . What have I forgotten? Brett, thanks for being Mom & Dad when Oliver and I were holed up in the kitchen, recording. And Patrick, thanks for picking me to be your Mom. - Teresa Teresa Doyle is a sixth generation Prince Edward Islander. She lives on a small organic farm with her husband Brett and son Patrick. "...this album is doubly attractive - enticing the kids
even as it intrigues the parents. This is some of Doyle's best work."
"Teresa should get the next Juno Award for best children's
recording... she has created what you might call adult/child crossover
music. If you're looking for something traditional and hip at the same
time, you'll find it here." "Doyle's vocals have a cutting edge and a projection as
powerful as her song material." "Her voice, whether focused on traditional or jazz tunes,
is pure and strong and fluid as a wave." "One of the most innovative new interpreters of Canadian
folk songs." "Teresa Doyle dusts off traditional Celtic music, and
breathes new life into the ancient songs. Now she's breathing some heat
into them." |
